
M/V Madog was originally the "Prince Madog" of Aberystwyth University was built to Lloyds 100 A1 classification for Bangor University. She was custom built to conduct hydrographical and marine expeditions in the waters of Ireland and England.
She has been extensively updated and modernized during 2007-2009 to meet the demands for modern ships facilities.
4 point mooring winches give the ability to provide a stable platform in rough sea, which makes her very suitable for R.O.V – diving operations - Research projects – Bottom sampling and survey projects.
Areas of operation until 2010: English Channel - Irish Sea - North Sea - Baltic Sea.
M/V Madog has proved to be seaworthy enough to work with ROV- bottom sampling- and survey in the North Sea in winds up to 10 to 14 meters per second.
She has live aboard facilities for 12 passengers in seperate accomodations, and fuel and water capacities for journeys with endurance up to 30 days.


Fuel consumption, M/V Madog is one of the most cost-effective ships available on the market, 29 liters of fuel per hour, running at 5 knots.
Or 70 liters on cruising speed.
The ship is permanently manned with 2 deck officcers, 2 able seamen and 1 cook.
M/V Madog has a 66 M/2 spacious aft-deck with 2 cranes; 1x 5 TM support crane and 1 x 33 TM makes her a multi functional work platform for various tasks.
She has a large technician room with direct access and view over the aft-deck.
